scarlet_discord[Wanda is in a rather tentlike black cotton dress, belted up with a red velvet sash. Less makeup than usual--though damn it, she's not giving up her scarlet lipstick and nails.]
So...apparently this is what I'll look like in my seventies. I...guess it's okay, but really...why couldn't I have been forty? Fifty even? This is so weird. But mostly uncomfortable and cold. I guess there's a lesson here in taking care of oneself and appreciating one's youth, but right now I'm just waiting out this stupid Flood.

The kitchen will be nice and warm once the oven's going. I got permission to spend a big chunk of time cooking. You guys get bored, I'll be down there running through our flour stores. [Subdued, grumpy sigh]
Anyone got any aspirin? Or brandy?

[Wanda, now in an apron with her hair tied back in a kerchief and her sleeves rolled up, is doggedly working on perfecting piecrusts. From the ingredients piled up on the counter nearby--fruits, nuts, baking chocolate, honey and sugar--she's aiming at filling every one of them that comes out properly. She also has a few cookbooks she's trying to keep flour off of.]
